Futures trader and algorithmic developer Dan O'Brien has been in the futures space for over 20 years. Over that period, Dan has developed several highly advanced trading indicators that include tracking High-Frequency Traders and much more. Another indicator Dan has developed is a Regime-Switching algorithm which identifies the difference between trends and mean reversion areas. Dan's friend and Sierra Charts software developer Dmitry Pichkar, has been trading with Dan for about 8 years. Despite Dmitry's highly successful professional trading success, he wanted more.

I would love to code it in Sierra Charts and use it in my automated systems!" It was this conversation that lead to the HFT Indicator being developed specifically for Sierra Charts.
